چکیده
We revisit a unique building system including base-isolation, building-connection hybrid control system. The base-isolation withstands pulse-type earthquake ground motions effectively and the resists long-duration efficiently. A simple smart critical response evaluation method without nonlinear time-history analysis is proposed for this under near-fault motions. An analytical expression of maximum elastic-plastic deformation damped bilinear hysteretic single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) model double impulse as representative derived in our previous paper plays an important role development method. two-step transformation procedure into SDOF proposed. first step main base-isolated second reduction connecting dampers supported on sub to damper with sophisticated compensation factor assumed rigid wall. damping coefficients consideration yielding story key paper. Different from work, equivalent coefficient depending range before after story. This treatment enhances accuracy reliability demonstrated by multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) model.

Critical Response of 2DOF Elastic–Plastic Building Structures under Double Impulse as Substitute of Near-Fault Ground Motion
The double impulse is introduced as a substitute of the fling-step near-fault ground motion and a critical elastic–plastic response of a two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) building structure under the “critical double impulse” is evaluated. Since only the free-vibration appears under such double impulse, the energy balance approach plays an important and essential role in the derivation of the soluti...

متن کاملCritical Response of Single-Degree-of-Freedom Damped Bilinear Hysteretic System under Double Impulse As Substitute for Near-Fault Ground Motion
A double impulse input is used as a substitute for near-fault earthquake ground motions. An explicit expression is derived on the maximum elastic–plastic response of a singledegree-of-freedom damped structure with bilinear hysteresis under the “critical double impulse input” which causes the maximum response for variable impulse interval with the input level kept constant. Owing to the existenc...

An evaluation method of robustness of base-isolation building-connection hybrid controlled building structures is developed by introducing a measure for robustness (robustness function) and considering shallow and deep ground uncertainties. The earthquake ground-motion amplitude at the earthquake bedrock is evaluated by the Boore’s stochastic method including the fault rupture and the wave prop...
متن کاملInfluence of Seismic Pounding on RC Buildings with and without Base Isolation System Subject to Near-Fault Ground Motions
Building pounding occurs between two adjacent buildings with small gap or without sufficient separation distance. It leads to damage buildings during earthquake due to impact. Many researchers have investigated building pounding based on impact force reduction and energy dissipation increase, when two buildings collide with each other. In numerical investigations, using specific link element, i...
